The Certified Compliance Manager (CCM) certification is ideal for those who wish to establish, develop or manage a compliance function that is robust enough to protect an organisation’s interests in the increasingly strict regulatory environments which are the new global reality. The CCM (1) conducts periodic internal reviews or audits to ensure that compliance procedures are followed; (2) conducts or directs the internal investigation of compliance issues; (3) assesses product, compliance, or operational risks and develops risk management strategies.
AFMA Certification can be obtained either by Direct Application (for those with experience and/or qualifications in the area); or by undertaking an AFMA approved Training Program.
Direct Application: Those applying direct for the CCM certification will need to demonstrate advanced knowledge and experience in: (1) conducting environmental audits to ensure adherence to environmental standards; (2) identifying compliance issues that require follow-up or investigation; (3) disseminating written policies and procedures related to compliance activities.
Training: For those wishing to undertake training to obtain certification, this course trains individuals to: (1) define the meaning of compliance for your organisation and be capable of developing an organisational response to its demands; (2) appreciate the relationship between corporate ethics, governance and compliance, including the market expectation of that relationship; (3) know what drives your compliance exposure both at home and abroad and understand the risk consequences of non-compliance; (4) recognise the implications of corporate accountability in developing a Culture of Compliance; and (5) Understand how to produce a corporate compliance program tailored to an organisation and learn how to optimise organisational structure for compliance. Students will explore key compliance areas, such as who is responsible for corporate governance, the extent of an organisation’s legal obligations, the importance of Sarbanes-Oxley and, most importantly, how to actually implement an effective compliance function in an organisation.
